- ➤ Cumberland County Commissioners decided on Aug. 14 to convert the former Crown Event Center site in downtown Fayetteville into a parking lot—critics say the plan wastes public funds as each parking spot is estimated to cost $83,500 and the land could bring in more tax revenue if developed.
