- ➤ Cumberland County Commissioners decided on Aug. 14 to convert the former Crown Event Center site in downtown Fayetteville into a parking lot—critics say the plan wastes public funds as each parking spot is estimated to cost $83,500 and the land could bring in more tax revenue if developed. - ➤ Data from Realtor.com showed that the median home listing price in Cumberland County dropped to $299,801 in July from $302,500 last month—homes averaged 1,900 square feet at $155 per square foot with listings on the market for a median of 51 days.
