About this event
Step inside the historic Boyd House for a very special afternoon where music and history come together.
The TrebleMakers, part of the Carolina Philharmonic Junior Orchestra program, will take us down memory lane with a performance inspired by the history of the Boyd House and the generations who have gathered within its walls. For this special Chamber Series performance, these talented young string musicians will fill the Great Room with music while guests discover stories from the remarkable history of James and Katharine Boyd and their Southern Pines home. Join us for an afternoon celebrating our history, music, and the next generation of musicians keeping both alive.
The Treblemakers make up a smaller part of the Carolina Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and includes students from high school, college, and a college graduate. They represent the Carolina Philharmonic Youth Music program by playing at galas, charities, and even a few paying gigs when time permits. Several of our members have also begun teaching orchestra classes and private lessons. Their motto is work hard and laugh a lot while making music together! The Junior Philharmonic today is under the leadership of April Collins and a dedicated team of teachers and apprentices, the program serves approximately 120 students, from kindergarten through adulthood, providing instruction in violin, viola, cello and bass.
