- ➤ ABC for Teens uses A–Z lessons plus art and discussion to help local youth build social-emotional skills; the program will launch a new session at Hunt Recreation Center in January and may expand countywide when funding is available. CityView
- ➤ Douglas Byrd educator Peggy Weinhoeft-Renfro completed a 2,500-mile climate fellowship (funded by a $5,000 grant) this summer to study how climate, energy and community connections work, and she now brings these insights to her students (one of only three NC teachers awarded the grant) at the Academy of Green Technology.
