- ➤ Phillip Blackmon Harris, Sr. passed away peacefully on November 17 at Cadence in Wake Forest—he was a long-time Fayetteville resident, former student, and community leader who served in the Army and worked in business. A service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow. CityView
- ➤ A groundbreaking ceremony took place Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Myrover-Reese Recovery Homes for a new women's home and greenhouses. Community leaders and attendees turned over dirt—marking the start of a project planned to provide safe housing and recovery support for women. The Fayetteville Observer

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Cumberland County and the City of Fayetteville are using over $36 million from national opioid settlement funds to buy naloxone kits, launch treatment programs and fund police de-escalation training.
