- ➤ Regional gas prices in the Lower Atlantic dropped to an average of $2.78 per gallon on Monday from $2.82 last week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. - ➤ Tonight the Leonid meteor shower will peak as debris from comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle streaks across the eastern sky from the direction of Leo — local observers can expect about 10 to 15 meteors per hour under clear dark skies. A waning crescent moon will not affect visibility and no special equipment is needed to view the display. The Fayetteville Observer
