- ➤ Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church will host the world’s largest spaghetti dinner on Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event supports local charities and continues a Fayetteville tradition that began in 1958 (614 Oakridge Ave.) ($10 per takeout plate includes a generous serving of spaghetti and Greek pastries). BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Several national chains, including Bath & Body Works, Habit Burger & Grill, Whataburger and Dutch Bros, are set to expand their presence in Fayetteville. The Fayetteville Technical Review Committee is reviewing new site plans this November—one for Cook Out on Raeford Road and others for openings, while Yeadon Domes will invest $4.6 million to bring 72 jobs to the city. - ➤ A community meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9-12 at First Baptist Church (201 Anderson St.) where local residents will share their experiences with food insecurity amid a federal shutdown that has left many employees without pay and affected over 33,000 households in Cumberland County. - ➤ Santa Claus will visit Cross Creek Mall today and through Wednesday, Dec. 24 to greet shoppers, offer free photo sessions and gift card giveaways — and on two weekends, Black Santa will appear in a special holiday setup. The Fayetteville Observer
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ City Council held a public hearing on Nov. 10 about Stadium View, a project to build a hotel and apartment tower atop the Hay Street Parking Deck near Segra Stadium in downtown Fayetteville. The developer LMG will begin construction in June and complete the project in May 2028—making it the tallest downtown structure and adding needed lodging options. The Fayetteville Observer

- ➤ UNC football will begin its three-game stretch with a Tobacco Road rivalry game against Wake Forest in Winston-Salem on November 15th at 4:30 p.m. The Tar Heels, coming off narrow wins (Coach Bill Belichick noted the intensity of in-state matchups), will rely on their strong defensive line as experts predict a close game.
