- ➤ Cumberland County Schools is launching a five-year Strategic Plan from 2026 to 2031 using a three-phase process guided by community input and district data — a steering committee including educators, parents, students, and local leaders along with RTI International will help set goals and review information. - ➤ Cumberland County Schools employees will receive a boost in local salary supplements this school year after the Board of Education approved a new plan on November 10 funded by a $13.7 million increase. - ➤ Fayetteville City Council approved a $70 million downtown project on Monday to add a 119-room hotel, 124 apartments, and a public parking garage—with the city lending a $5 million loan to support the development.
