- ➤ Cumberland County Schools is gathering community input on redistricting and consolidation by holding public meetings on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 and launching an online survey on Oct. 31—this follows a facilities review that identified over $800 million in maintenance needs for 85 school buildings and raised concerns among parents about changing school boundaries and commute times. - ➤ Fayetteville native Chris Dixon, an award-winning designer, and Melvin Melchor hosted a sneaker design workshop for Anne Chesnutt students at Two-Six Labs at Orange Street School in Fayetteville. - ➤ Fayetteville Technical Community College celebrated the renaming of its Cape Fear Valley School of Nursing and its School of Health Sciences on Tuesday—after receiving a $2 million donation from Cape Fear Valley Health to support its nursing and allied health programs.
