- ➤ Rock Quarry Road between Auburn Knightdale and Old Baucom will close nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. from today until Oct. 31 for work on the Complete 540 project (Phase 2 construction extending the Triangle Expressway). - ➤ Fayetteville teacher Nyoshi Bizzell became cancer-free after fighting Stage 2 breast cancer with help from Cape Fear Valley Health—she finished her treatments last October and is now recovering from reconstructive surgery while completing her degree at Fayetteville State University. CityView
- ➤ Summer McKesson learned through DNA tests that Duke fertility doctor Charles Peete is her real father and that she has over 20 half siblings, a discovery that deepens her ongoing health challenges with genetic conditions. She is urging the state legislature to act — to hold doctors accountable and protect children from similar harm — and to help prevent this misconduct in the future. WRAL
