EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Cumberland County Schools is hosting two public input meetings to shape redistricting and school consolidation plans that address $806 million in repairs for 85 schools. One meeting is at Jack Britt High School on Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. while the other is at Pine Forest High School on Oct. 30 at 6 p.m.—community feedback will guide recommendations to the County Board of Education later this year. - ➤ The Salvation Army in Fayetteville is now registering first through eighth grade students for its after school program held Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.—with 75 slots available at $25 registration and $60 weekly rates and 13 transportation spots provided from local elementary schools. It is also accepting 2025 Angel Tree program applications until Oct. 31 to help families needing Christmas support. The Fayetteville Observer
