  • Photos show the history of Team Red, White and Blue—a national organization that supports health and wellness for military-connected communities—with events like care package parties and veteran run-walks documented over the years.   • Prik Thai Cuisine — which was damaged by a fire in March — permanently closed its Robeson Street location after the building owner did not extend its lease. Owner Worawan Zendes said she will reopen her Thai restaurant in the Raleigh/Cary area as competition in Fayetteville has become too strong.  The Fayetteville Observer

  • CityView’s October Arts and Culture magazine is now available on newsstands across Cumberland County and spotlights Fayetteville as a perfect incubator for the arts by featuring local talent like actress Molly Griggs and a new youth program at Orange Street School’s Music Lab—also previewing the upcoming 2025-2026 performing season and local events. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Soldiers past and present at Fort Bragg honored Gen. Buck Kernan with a final salute at the 82nd Airborne Division Hall of Heroes Saturday—he died Sept. 2 at his Pinehurst home at age 79 and left a lasting legacy of selfless service and leadership. His memory continues to guide those who served with him during his long military career from Vietnam to his retirement.  CityView
  • Voters in central North Carolina will cast their ballots Tuesday in municipal elections, with cities like Fayetteville, Durham and Rocky Mount holding contests—Fayetteville is hosting a mayoral race with 10 candidates among other city council contests. Precincts will be open from 6:30 a.m. — 7:30 p.m. and voters must use a valid photo ID to participate.  WRAL
  • Cumberland County has launched the Homeless Prevention and Stabilization Voucher Program funded with $250,000 from the American Rescue Plan to help residents earning $42,000 or less who are referred through the Coordinated Entry system— the six-month pilot is part of broader county efforts that include RFPs for a temporary emergency shelter and an Unhoused Support Center.  The Fayetteville Observer
