ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Westarea Fire Department is battling a house fire on Ramsey Street in Linden—roads at Trinity Gardens and Ramsey are closed and drivers are advised to use Giles Road to East Reeves Bridge Road.  WRAL

CRIME NEWS

  • A Fayetteville firefighter injured on Monday while battling heavy smoke and flames from a suspicious fire at a vacant house on the 900 block of Ramsey Street has been treated for a sliced hand—officials are investigating the cause given the home's long vacancy.  ABC 11
  • Wilson’s Mills police are investigating human remains found behind the Wilson’s Mills Association Cemetery on Saturday after children reported the find just after 4:30 p.m. — officers now await the state medical examiner's findings.  WRAL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • All public schools now use Infinite Campus so parents must sign up for a Campus Parent account to access student data—thousands have not registered yet and those missing an email should contact their schools for assistance.  WRAL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fayetteville election forums are planned to give voters the chance to meet mayoral and City Council candidates at local libraries, churches, and community centers. The events begin Sept. 6 at Headquarters Library and continue through Oct. 21—providing multiple opportunities for engagement before the primary on Oct. 7 and the general election on Nov. 4.  The Fayetteville Observer
