  • Cumberland County Commissioners approved new funding for public schools by allocating $103 million for operations, $300 million for maintenance and $160 million for future construction—a welcome boost for Superintendent Eric Bracy.   • North Fayetteville residents are urging neighbors to call the City Council today to delay approval of a proposed 7-Eleven at the intersection of McArthur Road and Stacy Weaver Drive due to concerns about traffic, environmental impact, and safety—residents want the item removed from the consent agenda to allow a public hearing on August 25.
