  • Trent Holmes, a 33-year-old mental health specialist at Womack Army Medical Center, was selected for Fayetteville’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2025 for his strong community service and leadership.   • Takieyah Mathis, 33, founded The Standing Light Foundation and works as a state court mediator and family ambassador for Cumberland County Schools.   • Cavender's Boot City will open its second store in Fayetteville this fall, taking over the former Party City location on Skibo Road — 2065-4 Skibo Road. The Texas-based retailer will offer western boots, hats, jeans and personalized services such as boot fitting and hat shaping.  The Fayetteville Observer
  • Fayetteville Regional Airport offers two direct flights connecting to Charlotte and Atlanta—access points to over 660 one-stop destinations. Raleigh-Durham International Airport provides nonstop service to more than 70 routes including four European countries and flights to the Caribbean, Canada, Mexico and Panama—broadening travel options for locals.  The Fayetteville Observer

  • On July 12 at 7 p.m., the Epsilon Rho Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha will host its annual beautillion at the Iron Mike Convention Center on Fort Bragg to present 11 young men from Cumberland, Hoke and Harnett counties in a ceremony titled "Fantastic Voyage: The Journey from Beaus to Men"—tickets cost $60.  The Fayetteville Observer
  • Fayetteville's annual Pride Festival took place Saturday at the Crown Expo Center on Coliseum Drive with new additions like alcoholic beverages and drag performances to keep the indoor event comfortable, and organizers expected between 2,500 and 5,000 visitors—attendees praised the inclusive atmosphere and local art support.  The Fayetteville Observer
