  • Nathan Cuffee (35) of Fayetteville is named to this year's 40 Under 40 as co-owner of Blue Moon Café and partner of Archives Speak Easy, recognized for his role in reshaping downtown through business, arts and civic service.   • Lisa Dix, owner of The Rainbow Doula Co. and leader at FEELZ Inc., was named to Fayetteville’s 40 Under 40 Class for her work in maternal health and helping families through pregnancy loss—she also manages a local doula program to improve care during birth.  The Fayetteville Observer

  • A poll invites Fayetteville residents to vote for the city's most unique landmark, offering choices such as the Market House, the little Eiffel Tower at Bordeaux Shopping Center, and the towering display at Kelly & Kelly Auto on Bragg Boulevard — results will be shared later in June.  The Fayetteville Observer
  • Fayetteville Pride Festival moves to the Crown Complex on June 21 and runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with entertainment, local vendors, food trucks and a 4 p.m. performance by R&B singer Kyng Bea + security measures including metal detectors and a clear bag policy. Other Pride events include a tattoo event on June 21 at Old St., the Fayetteville Woodpeckers' Night OUT game on June 26 at Segra Stadium, and Sandhills PRIDE gatherings in Southern Pines with a lakeside brunch on June 21 and a trivia night on June 25.  The Fayetteville Observer

  • Dr. Jeremy Richardson, 36, is the director of education at Pope Army Airfield and was nominated for Fayetteville's 40 Under 40 Class of 2025 because he leads key programs that guide Airmen in their education and career development (earning praise for his professionalism and service).  The Fayetteville Observer
  • Money Box Academy hosted a financial bootcamp for high school students at Fayetteville Technical Community College on June 15th + the teens practiced financial skills through mock bank meetings.  ABC 11

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • County commissioners dropped the downtown Crown Event Center project after finding design flaws and rising costs from $80 million to $178 million and chose to upgrade the aging Crown Theatre and Arena instead — officials stressed that this change was needed to free funds for urgent county priorities like toxic water fixes and public safety. The board based its decision on detailed reviews of spending, community feedback, and a lack of viable controls over further cost increases.  CityView
  • Malik Davis, 29, serves on the Fayetteville City Council and works as a Realtor with Kingdom Community Realty.
