- ➤ The Museum of the Cape Fear will host the 'When Are We US? Becoming American' exhibit from June 5 to 12 featuring immigration, rights, emancipation and voting in North Carolina (free admission) at 801 Arsenal Ave. It is part of the America 250 NC initiative marking 250 years since Independence. - ➤ Fayetteville is asking residents to report dangerous roads via an online survey open until Sunday, June 7, to help shape improvements under a federal Safe Streets plan. Residents can also attend a City Council feedback meeting (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow at City Hall) to share safety concerns. The Fayetteville Observer
- ➤ The county is set to consider a proposal that would allow city employees to use its child care center at its next meeting in June. The plan includes summer care options to help address the local childcare shortage (a recent report described the area as a childcare desert). The Fayetteville Observer
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A recent report shows Fayetteville drinking water meets federal and state standards despite PFAS detection. The Public Works Commission will upgrade its treatment system using granular activated carbon by summer or fall 2029. The Fayetteville Observer
