- ➤ On Monday a crash blocked both directions of I-95 near Exit 71 on Long Branch Road near Dunn before 5:30 a.m., causing heavy delays and a detour via Exit 70 for Bud Hawkins Road — officials said the road might remain closed for up to two hours — while investigators looked into reports that multiple vehicles and a possible tractor-trailer were involved. - ➤ Cape Fear Regional Theatre will end its season with Once on This Island—a musical that retells a classic fairy tale with a Caribbean twist on love and culture. - ➤ On May 8, Hope Mills Mayor Jessie Bellflowers held his second town hall at the town's recreation center where about 30 local residents raised concerns about rapid growth and limited space.
