CRIME NEWS

  • The Dogwood Festival ended early on Saturday after reports of gunfire in the public library parking lot, and Fayetteville police continue to investigate the incident with no injuries reported.  ABC 11

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The North Carolina Department of Transportation said work will resume next week on Rosehill Road after a project left 30% finished in 2023—causing a road closure on the morning of April 28 with traffic detoured via Shaw Mill, Murchison and Country Club Drives until May 2. The $1.3 million project, awarded by Fayetteville City Council, will complete sidewalk, curb and storm drainage improvements in the fall.  The Fayetteville Observer

HEALTH NEWS

  • This April, local Fayetteville resident Tiffany Campbell shared her personal experience with a planned C-section, explaining that it is a major abdominal surgery involving seven layers and a recovery period of 6–8 weeks. She challenged the false idea that a C-section is an easy way out and stressed the need for proper support and care — key points for C-Section Awareness Month — to honor every birth story.  The Fayetteville Observer
