- ➤ The 42nd annual Crime Stoppers BBQ Benefit is running today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in front of Lori’s Ace Hardware at Highland Centre, offering barbecue pork, potato salad, coleslaw and a dinner roll for $10 with proceeds benefiting nonprofit Crimestoppers. CityView
- ➤ Cape Fear Valley Health expanded its day care facility in Fayetteville after hosting a ribbon cutting on April 16. The 26,000 sqft center (now with 12 new classrooms) boosts capacity from 240 to 440 children and adds about 30 new jobs for hospital staff. The Fayetteville Observer
