- ➤ At Hope Mills Town Hall on Monday, commissioners voted unanimously to accept new terms from Cumberland County that change the sales tax agreement from a per capita to an ad valorem model. The amendment lets the town keep 50% of sales tax revenue above fiscal year 2022 levels in fiscal year 2025, saving an estimated $156,000 based on fiscal 2024 data. CityView
- ➤ On April 8, Cumberland County commissioners lifted the suspension on construction of the Crown Event Center project after reviewing confidential budget and scope reports—so far, the county has spent about $35 million on design, planning, and site work.
