- ➤ A person was injured Friday morning in a crash on NC Highway 42 near Willow Spring on Mount Pleasant Road around 6 a.m. and was taken to a hospital while police and fire officials blocked the road as the State Highway Patrol investigated after an SUV on NC 24 was badly damaged with debris spilling from it. - ➤ Wawa opened a new store Friday in Goldsboro at 2853 W U.S. 70 Highway—where festivities began at 7:45 a.m. with free T-shirts for the first 100 customers, breakfast samples, hot coffee, a ribbon cutting and a contest for first responders benefiting local charities. The chain plans to open more locations in Greenville, Wilson, Garner and Fayetteville within the next year and aims to reach 90 stores in North Carolina over the next 10 years. WRAL

- ➤ A Raeford man was arrested Thursday for fatally shooting Fayetteville man Mark Anthony Singletary near Bragg Boulevard and Winston Avenue at around 2:40 a.m. on Feb. 21 and has been charged with first-degree murder. The Fayetteville Observer
