- ➤ County officials attended the National Association of Counties conference in Washington, D.C. to discuss legislative funding priorities such as water and sewer upgrades, education funding, youth mental health services and a proposed I-685 route; the Board later updated project statuses and suspended work on the Crown Event Center for 30 days to review its scope, schedule and budget. Fayetteville City Council approved a temporary FAST bus fare waiver for four Saturdays in March to help children attend story time while also adopting measures for an extra early voting site, funding for waste management and community transit, and the county library now offers seven days of admission passes to local attractions funded by an $852 grant.
