  • J'Kwan Fulmore of Er’Body Eatz is launching community gardens in blighted neighborhoods off Rim Road using donated seeds, soil and volunteer help to grow fresh produce and teach cooking classes.   • Dreamville Festival has announced its final lineup for April 5-6 at Dorothea Dix Park in downtown Raleigh—headlined by Lil Wayne, 21 Savage, J. Cole and Erykah Badu—with tickets starting at $299.99 available now. J. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A section of Raeford Road near Highland Country Club in Fayetteville will close at the end of March for eight months for a culvert replacement needed to improve drainage for Branson Creek — Mountain Creek Contractors Inc. won a $1 million bid and work is set to finish by November — drivers are urged to follow detour signs and plan for longer trips.  CityView
  • Two volunteer members of the Community Police Advisory Board quit after a short time, saying the board only cheers on the police instead of giving clear advice—Jeremy Fiebig left last September after five months and William Grace resigned in January despite a three-year term; their exit has sparked a debate on proper police oversight in Fayetteville.  CityView
  • North Carolina lawmakers are proposing House Bill 95 to make it a felony to threaten local politicians and to enforce stricter bail rules that keep suspects in jail for up to two days with no bond—rising politically motivated threats and bipartisan support have spurred this proposal, which may be approved today.  WRAL
