- ➤ Fayetteville historian Fred Whitted was posthumously inducted into the CIAA Hall of Fame on Feb. 27 during the tournament weekend, recognizing his work preserving Black college sports and local history in town. - ➤ Cumberland County Schools faces a $5 million gap in its proposed $670.8 million budget — officials plan to use $9.09 million from savings to cover deficits while planning new school construction.
