- ➤ Retired Brig. Gen. Joseph L. Nagel, 91, of Fayetteville passed away on Feb. 17 after a 30-year Army career and active local involvement. His funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday, March 2 at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Village Dr. CityView
- ➤ Cumberland County Animal Services reopened on Feb. 23 with limited adoptions by appointment at the shelter on Corporation Drive in Fayetteville. The shelter also resumed stray intake + scheduled owner surrenders during normal hours. The Fayetteville Observer

- ➤ The Dank Burrito restaurant on the corner of Skibo and Raeford roads, which opened on April 1, 2025 by Army veteran owners, is now permanently closed since Feb. 10 though its website lists it as temporarily closed, and other locations remain open. The Fayetteville Observer

- ➤ A state task force is examining how big data centers share the cost of extra power as North Carolina faces rising energy demand & higher electricity bills.
