- ➤ J. Cole is set to perform on Sept. 23 at Crown Coliseum as part of his Fall-Off Tour — local fans will get exclusive presale access beginning at 11 a.m. today, with ticket purchases limited to those with Fayetteville-area billing addresses. The Fayetteville Observer
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Briaja Ervin, an Exceptional Children teacher at Gray’s Creek Middle School, was named the Observer's Amazing Teacher for February by Smith Douglas Homes & the Observer. She will be considered for national recognition for her clear communication with students and their families. The Fayetteville Observer
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fort Bragg is under review as one of four Army sites considered for a massive commercial data center that would use at least 100 megawatts of power. Developers must submit proposals by Feb. 23 to lease unused Army land for 50 years + address power, water, environmental and community impacts. The Fayetteville Observer
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Cumberland County Animal Shelter remains closed for adoptions & intakes amid a respiratory illness outbreak, though nonprofit rescues can now retrieve animals and adoptable cats will soon return to PetSmart on Corporation Drive. No reopening date has been set yet. The Fayetteville Observer
