About this event
About the Workshop:
The Artist's Way (and this workshop) isn't just for artists. You don't need to know how to paint, write, play an instrument, or throw a pot. This workshop will be particularly meaningful for people who are entering a new stage of life.
“There are times when the roles that once defined us begin to change. Children grow up. Careers end or shift. Relationships change. Retirement arrives. Sometimes we simply reach an age when we realize that the life ahead of us may look very different from the life behind us” Sally says. “That can be exciting, but it can also leave us feeling a little lost.”
Launching on Thursday, October 1 and continuing on Thursday evenings 6-8? for the following 12 weeks (with some holiday breaks) attendees will end 2026 having used The Artist's Way ’s exercises and practices to help us listen more closely to ourselves, move beyond some of the fears and beliefs that hold us back, and rediscover interests and possibilities we may have forgotten.
The goal is to become more fully yourself.
The 12-week Artist's Way workshop will be a supportive, encouraging environment for discovering, or rediscovering, the creative part of yourself. You don't need artistic experience, and you don't need to arrive with a plan.
You only need curiosity and a willingness to ask yourself a simple question:
What might I still love to do?
The workshop is free with registration, you only need a spiral notebook and we ask that you purchase your copy of The Artist Way from The Country Bookshop.

About Sally Larson:
For more than thirty years, Sally Larson has called this community home. Many people may know her through Fireshadow Pottery in Eagle Springs, which her partner, Mo, and I owned and operated for many years. Working with clay and living a creative life taught her something important: creativity isn't just about making art. It is about discovering who we are and what makes us feel alive. Sally is a certified Creative Depth Coach, helping people explore their inner lives and discover ways to live more fully and authentically, specifically through 12-week workshops based on Julia Cameron's well-known book The Artist's Way .
Praise for The Artist Way from local creatives:
“I used to follow the Artist’s Way. It’s an excellent way to nurture creativity. Even more importantly, it can help people choose art over social media which is crucial these days. I think it’s a great idea and a much needed offering in our area.” -Katrina Denza, writer.
