Fly-tying Forum

About this event

The Southern Appalachians have a rich fly-tying tradition shaped by generations of anglers and the region’s productive trout streams. During the November Fly-Tying Forum, participants will explore that heritage while tying two classic patterns: the My Pet Nymph and Tellico Nymph.

Participants will practice forming proportioned tails, creating tapered bodies, mounting wingcases and shellbacks, and controlling hackle. The two patterns offer a “success first, stretch second” progression while producing versatile flies that belong in any trout angler’s fly box.

Space is limited—reserve your seat today and join us at the Pechmann Center for an evening of learning, tying, and fellowship!
