About this event

This Veterans Day, join us at the Museum for a free book talk and meet-and-greet with author Steven Robert Zaley.

His book, "They Are Only Gone If They Are Forgotten," tells the story of one of the original companies of the 82nd Airborne Division: Headquarters Company, Third Battalion, 505th. It follows a rare group of paratroopers, his father among them, who made four combat missions behind enemy lines in World War II. After his father’s death, Steven spent years working with members of the combat team and doing his own research so their story would never be forgotten.

Schedule

12 PM: Book talk in the Small Theater

1–3 PM: Meet-and-greet in the Museum Lobby

Free and open to the public.

Autographed and serialized copies of the book, plus merchandise, will be available in the Museum Store that day.

Steven will be at the Museum in his 1942 paratrooper uniform, so bring your questions and your camera.
